File too large to upload to the AI? Don’t give up on it.

Free, no sign-up, no upload. Shrink just the images until the file fits the AI’s size limit.

Your files are never sent anywhere. Everything happens on your device — learn more

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, NotebookLM… you try to give an AI your document and it bounces with "file too large". Most AI services cap attachment sizes (the exact numbers vary by service and plan, and change often — their official help is the accurate source). Sveltiq's job is simple: get your file under the limit, whatever that limit is. The text data is never touched, so what the AI reads stays the same.

* Password-protected / encrypted files and the old formats (.ppt / .doc / .xls) cannot be compressed

What it can solve — and what it can't (honestly)

✅ Solves: exceeding the megabyte limit

Files are heavy mostly because of pasted photos, screenshots and scans. Sveltiq never touches the text data and re-compresses only the images — the body text the AI reads stays as-is, and only the file size drops.

❌ Doesn't solve: page-count and token limits

Errors about too many pages or too much text can't be fixed by reducing megabytes. Split the file or extract the pages you need instead.

🔒 No third-party server between you and the AI

A document you're giving to an AI is usually one whose content matters. Run it through a typical online compressor first, and you've handed it to one more company on the way. Sveltiq processes everything on your device, so no third party touches your file during compression.

Three steps, about 30 seconds

  1. Drop your file in the area above — PDF, PowerPoint, Word and Excel are supported; compression starts automatically
  2. Pick a finish — try Balanced first; if it’s still too big, go Smallest. Check figure readability in the before/after view
  3. Save and re-upload to the AI — your original file is never modified, so you can redo it as many times as you like

Why Sveltiq fits the AI workflow

Getting a file under an AI's limit often takes a few rounds of "compress → try → still too big → compress more". Tools with daily caps stall exactly there. Sveltiq is free and unlimited, so you can iterate as much as you need.

FAQ: compressing files for AI upload

Q. Which AI services does this work with?
A. It isn’t tied to any service. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, NotebookLM — whenever an attachment is rejected as too large, make it lighter here and upload again.
Q. What are the size limits of each AI?
A. They vary by service and plan and change often, so this page doesn’t list them — check the official help for current numbers. Sveltiq’s job is to get under the limit, whatever it is.
Q. Will compressing hurt the AI’s reading accuracy?
A. The text data is never touched; only images are compressed. If figure details matter, pick High quality and check the before/after view.
Q. Does it help with page-count or token limits?
A. No. Those can’t be solved by shrinking megabytes — split the file or extract the pages you need. Sveltiq solves exactly one thing: the megabyte limit.
Q. Does it work on scanned PDFs?
A. Yes — scans are mostly images and shrink well. But the "text" in a scan is part of the image: lowering quality too far may affect character recognition, so check readability first.
Q. Is anything inside my file ever sent anywhere?
A. No — Sveltiq has no upload at all. Compression happens entirely inside your browser and files are never transmitted. You can confirm it yourself — it keeps working even with Wi-Fi turned off (more on security).
Q. My file barely got smaller
A. If the images are already well optimized, there is little room to shrink safely. Sveltiq refuses to over-compress at the cost of quality and honestly returns the file nearly unchanged instead. Try the Smallest preset or reduce the image size in Custom.
Q. What about files over 200MB?
A. Use "Large files? Raise the limit" in the drop area to raise the per-file limit to up to 800MB, matching your PC's memory (the total stays 1GB).
