Why this exists

All we wanted was to make a file smaller — yet every compression service seemed to push paid plans, require sign-ups, or bury the button under ads. That frustration is where Sveltiq started.

"No sign-up. No ads. Completely free. And no compromise on performance." Since we couldn't find that tool, we built it.

Sveltiq runs entirely inside your browser, on your device — by design, files are never sent anywhere. Quality comes first: the top priority is to never output a broken file, backed by continuous testing against a large, diverse set of real-world documents.

Why it can be free

Most online compressors upload your file to their servers for processing. Every file costs them computing power, so a free tier tends to come with limits like "a few files per day" or "up to a few MB" — plus sign-ups, ads, or upsells to paid plans.

Sveltiq works differently. All compression happens inside your browser, on your own computer. Our server only delivers the page. With almost no running costs, Sveltiq can stay free — no daily limits, no registration, no ads.

And for the same reason, your files are never sent anywhere. "It's free" and "your files are safe" come from the same design. You can verify this yourself: it keeps working even with your Wi-Fi turned off — proof that nothing is being sent.

Sveltiq is built and run by one person. If it helps you, a small tip via the "Tip jar" link in the footer keeps it going (entirely optional, of course).
